This weeks question:
Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
**Warning may contain spoilers for those of you who haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse Series**
My Answer
YES! Bill Compton from the Sookie Stackhouse series! Bill started out as a nice guy. The kind that was just too good to be true, but you fall in love with him anyway. Well, MISTAKE! When I found out that he was sent to "seduce" Sookie for intel about her "abilities", it broke my heart. I felt as if I was the one that he completely screwed over. (I guess that is props to Charlaine Harris for making me really care about her characters.) Bill has since tried to make amends, and you learn why he did these things, (it really did hurt him too, cause he really loves Sookie) but I am not having it. I am totally Team Eric now, Biatch!
Now it's your turn. Have you had a character disappoint you?
Do you watch the series on HBO? I was kind of glad when Bill's true motive was revealed, because it meant less screen time for Stephen Moyer's bad southern accent lol
ReplyDeleteMy FF.
Yep, I do watch True Blood. I sometimes get the books and the show mixed up. And as for his accent I laugh every time he says Sookeh, LOL.
DeleteHopping through. I didn't read much of your answer because I've only read the first Sookie book. I want to read more.

The show followed the books closely for about the first season, there are still SMALL similarities, but for the most part the show different.
DeleteI loved the first few books but they are getting a tad ho hum for me lately.

Have a great weekend, Sharon
Yeah, I agree, I loved the first books in the series. I haven't even read the last few. The last one I did read was a major let down.
DeleteI never really liked Bill, but after that revelation I really hated him. >_<

Bill was ok in the first book, after that I didn't really like him, than after the big reveal I hated him. Eric is so much better. I picked the Sookie Stackhouse series too but because in the last couple of books I've found Sookie to be annoying. I keep reading because I like the other characters but I'm glad she has an end for the series in sight.
