Welcome to the Release Day Blitz for Loving Lady Marcia! Brought to you by Innovative Online Tours. Here you get my two cents on this book and a BONUS interview with the author, Kieran Kramer!
In the House of Brady, three very lovely girls have hair of gold—and hearts to match—but finding a match among the gentlemen of London is one comedy of errors that could bring down the house…
MARCIA GETS SCHOOLED…
Of the three Brady sisters, Lady Marcia has always seemed the girl most likely to lead a perfectly charmed life. But after a handsome cad breaks her heart, she swears off love and devotes her life to teaching girls at a private school. In spite of her family’s wish for a London debut, Marcia is happy where she is—until terrible news sends her back to the Brady clan…and into the arms of an unexpected suitor.
ON THE SUBJECT OF LOVE
A dark and dashing earl who knows Marcia’s past, Duncan Lattimore is surprised by what a fascinating and independent woman she’s become. Marcia, too, is surprised—by the fiery attraction she feels for Duncan. But why—why—must he be the brother of the scoundrel who broke her heart? Why must Marcia’s rival at school forbid her from seeing him? How can this lady possibly resist this fellow—when they know that it’s much more than a hunch…?
My review
I usually don't read Historical Romance, but this book sounded like it had potential. Was I right? YES. I really enjoyed Loving Lady Marcia. The characters were very likable and real. And I really got a kick out of it, when I finally realized The Brady Bunch was the "back story" for this book. When we first meet Marcia, she is young and dislikes Duncan, who is your stodgy Earl. She quickly falls for his brother, Finn who breaks her heart and blames it on Duncan. Fast forward years later when Duncan sees her and is instantly smitten with the lady she has become. She still harbors ill feelings for Duncan believing he is the reason Finn left her. I don't want to give too much away. Want to find out what happens? Grab a copy and get to reading, you won't regret it!
GOOD BOOK!
INTERVIEW
How long have you been writing?
Off and on since I was a kid. I wrote my
first little book (a children’s book) when I was about eleven years old.
What jobs did you have before you became
a writer?
English teacher, editor, freelance
journalist, and the CIA
Tell us a little about your book.
It’s a Regency-set historical romance,
the first book in a series called The House of Brady. The series follows the
adult romantic lives of the six siblings in a blended family. Marcia is the
first sibling to be featured. She could be the IT girl in London if she wanted
to be, but she gives up all the glitz and glamor for another life entirely. She
has a very good reason, but she doesn’t want to talk about it at all. But as we
all know, the past will always come back to haunt us no matter how hard we try
to escape it. The hero is going to kind
of make her do exactly what she doesn’t want to do—face that past and get past
it. But he has his own issues, too. True love will prevail, but they have a lot
of work to do first!!
Marcia’s big brother Gregory is featured
in the second book of the series. That will be called THE EARL IS MINE.
What is one book you could read over and
over?
Confessions of a Shopaholic. I laugh so
hard at Becky Bloomwood! She’s a riot. I like books that make me laugh.
What do you do in
your free time?
Hang out with family, read, cook, talk on the phone to my sisters,
walk with my neightbor, and walk the dog! I should exercise more. I like to
dance.
How do reviews, good or bad, affect you?
The bad ones used to make me feel terrible, but then I realized
that I can’t please everyone all the time. The good ones make me feel great!
But they also add a little pressure—you want to keep getting better and better
as a writer with each book.
When writing, do you plot and organize, or do you write then fit
it all together?
I get a little scene in my head…and then I build the whole book
around that. I do very basic plotting—I try to find turning points and the
black moment, but most of my plotting is done as I write.
What is one thing you absolutely cannot do without while writing?
Having the company of my two kitties, who lie near me and watch or
fall asleep as I write. I also love having my dog in the next room. He won’t
come into my office. He’s kinda scared of the cats.
If you could visit any place, where would
it be?
I’d really like to go to Hawaii!! I’ve
never been there.
Favorite food?
Hamburgers.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I think I’m a decent singer but not
great, LOL! I tried out at Disneyworld’s
American Idol and made it to the second cut. I couldn’t find a song I really
liked on the playlist and kind of panicked. But my opening audition was with
“Part of Your World,” one of my favorite songs from THE LITTLE MERMAID.
Cat or dog?
I absolutely can’t choose. I love them
both SO, SO much. I’m a real pet person.
Anything you would like to add?
I just want to thank all my reader friends for supporting my
stories and sharing all your wonderful enthusiasm with me. If it weren’t for
you, I wouldn’t have this amazing job. If one of my books can make your day a
little less stressful, then that makes me really happy. Thank you so much for
being there for me, and I hope to continue writing stories that show the world
that LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING. All my books have that theme in some way.
I really appreciate you taking time from your schedule to answer
these questions.
Thank YOU for having me here!!! I really enjoyed this interview!!!

Thanks for hosting Kieran!
ReplyDeleteI've read a couple of historical romances but I tend to forget about this genre in favour of Urban Fantasy and the like. I really ought to make more of an effort, as this book sounds like a real find!
