Divinity by Patricia Leever

Another gorgeous cover!

Demons.

They’re everywhere, hiding in plain sight. Chances are, you’ve interacted with one or two of them in your lifetime without even realizing it...

Demon hunter Evelyn Brighton saves unsuspecting humans from the malevolent creatures masquerading around them every day. Working under the Lebriga Corporation’s direction, she never fails to bring her A-game with her keen skill, fiercely independent spirit, and the best weapon in her arsenal: the Divinity blade.

Evelyn’s world is turned on its ear, however, when she is ordered to train cocky new recruit Daniel Summers. They both feel an instinctive pull drawing them to one another, the ancient spells tattooed into their skin illuminating whenever the two hunters come into contact. But with evil looming over the city of Los Angeles, Evelyn and Daniel’s mutual competitiveness and sense of duty to Lebriga and all humankind forces them to hold back their desires. Will their restraint be enough to keep them focused and save southern California, or will the dark forces prevail?

Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Divinity is an action-filled, fast-paced marriage of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Edgy, witty, and sexy, it will bind you in its spell.

My Review

Evie is a demon hunter hell bent on ridding Los Angeles of the evil that roams the streets. She was born with a gift to see demons who parade as humans along with her team mates at the Lebriga Corporation. Evie is content going on missions and killing demons. That is until Daniel and his handler Chris are sent to join the Los Angeles team. Daniel is a new recruit in dire need of training and the responsibility falls to Evie. She is used to flying solo now she must put her life in the hands of this newbie. Evie feels a connection to Daniel but she fights it at every turn.

Another great cover! The tattoos aren't just for decoration, they have a purpose. The story has a great balance between the romance and the action. I love the back and forth between the characters. The characters are written very well. Each have their own unique personality. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I recommend reading Clarity, the short prequel before reading Divinity. It gives you all the back story you need. Click here to download Clarity for free from Omnific Publishing!

I received this book from Omnific Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion.
