Bound By Night by Larissa Ione
Larissa Ione has done it again!
Not only do humans know that vampires exist, but the vampires are kept as house slaves. To avoid becoming enslaved vampires must keep hidden. Riker's wife was a nanny to the Martin family. The family which owns the company who acquires, trains and sells vampire servants. She was killed along with her unborn child. Riker blames the Martin family and can't wait to get the chance for revenge.
Nicole Martin was a small child when the vampire uprising happened. That day would change her life forever. That day would also be the day she came to hate vampires. Her family was murdered and she was brutally attacked. According to the will her father left, she must now step up and run her father's company. She wants to sell it off but someone wants her out of the way.
I already love the supporting characters and can't wait to hear their stories.
A favorite quote:
"What are you saying? That if I open myself up, climb in bed with, I'll magically get better? I'll forget how your family destroyed someone I cared about, someone I was charged with protecting?"
"Yes," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "That's exactly what I'm saying. In fact, let's try sex again." She leaped to her feet and tore open her jeans. "Maybe my magic vagina will cure you of all the traumatic acts my family has inflicted on you."
I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
